Imeson Park, Chipotle, Waffle House are in the works in Jacksonville

Yet another behemoth industrial building will soon be added to Jacksonville’s Northside.

Construction will soon begin on a structural steel building that will cover 202,800 square feet at 1511 Zoo Parkway, according to permits approved this month by city building inspectors. The owner is VTRE Development, better known as VanTrust Real Estate.

The $14.5 million "Imeson 200" project will be part of Imeson Park South and one of a number of buildings at the site. At least two more are set for permit approval.

The new structure will be used as a distribution warehouse, according to permit documents. Evens General Contractors is the construction firm.

Jacksonville’s Northside has been the landing pad for multiple large-scale warehouses and similar industrial facilities in recent years. Merritt Properties of Baltimore just received approval last month for several industrial buildings to be erected on Imeson Park Boulevard.

Two new notable chain restaurants will soon be added to Jacksonville’s food scene.

City building inspectors this month approved construction permits for a Chipotle and Waffle House.

The Chipotle is planned for 5801 Beach Blvd. and will cover 2,425 square feet. Ladson Construction is the contracting firm for the $1 million restaurant.

Meanwhile, a new Waffle House is about to be built at 2688 Firestone Road. The restaurant famous for its breakfast fixings will cover 1,688 square feet.

The eatery is projected to cost $386,000 to build, according to city documents. Waffle House Inc. will handle the construction.
